We are a Catholic day school that extends a warm welcome to children of all faiths and denominations. We educate girls from 3 to 18 and boys from 3 to 11 and guarantee small class sizes in order to focus on the individual child. They are helped, encouraged and supported rather than pressured; as a result, both our GCSE and A Level students achieved a 100% pass rate this year. 92% of our GCSE pupils achieved 5 or more grade A* to C and 79% of our A Level students achieved an A to C grade.

The Bishop of Nottingham, Bishop Malcolm McMahon recently paid a visit to Our Lady’s Convent School to present RE GCSE certificates to its pupils. Bishop Malcolm met the girls and was interviewed by the Sixth Form during their General Studies lesson. This was a special visit for the School as it welcomed Mrs Hawley who was appointed Headteacher in January 2008 and is the first lay head since the School opened 158 years ago. The School is about to incorporate the Convent building where the Sisters used to live into their teaching area.

This year’s annual Prize Giving evening, which celebrated the achievements of our pupils, was a superb event which was enjoyed by all. In the opening address Headteacher, Mrs Hawley thanked parents and teachers for all their support over the past year and for helping students achieve such wonderful results. Presentations were given by the Sixth Form who shared their experiences on life in the School and experience of participating in activities such as the Young Enterprise scheme and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The autumn term has been a busy period for the School with many events and exciting news to report! After over 20 years as a girls only Primary School, the boys are back at OLCS by popular request! Head of Primary, Ms Clarke, has already welcomed the first boys to start in the Reception class and there are more to follow! The New Year brings many exciting activities at the School including a musical performance of Oliver! in January 2009 as well as fetes, days out, extra curricular clubs and evening entertainment.

It is never too late to enrol your child, please visit our website
