The Water Aid event was held at the Cuisine of India Restaurant in Wigston. 92 guests attended the evening including Representatives from Leicester County Council, employees from HBOS Halifax/Bank of Scotland and the President along with board members of LABA - Leicester Asian Business Association, to name a few.
The event raised £1,600 which could not have been acheived if there had not been an appearance from a local property Auctioneer Kal Sangra from 'Kal Sangra Shonki Brothers', he ensured that guests continued to bid generously for gifts donated to the WaterAid fundraiser.
WaterAid works in over 17 of the world's poorest countries. WaterAid's mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. WaterAid's new Global Strategy which will run from 2009 to 2015 aims to enable a further 25 million people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education and to have reached 100 million more people through their work!
Again I would like to thank all the guests who attended the event, Syed of the Cuisine of India for always being so hospitable and finally Countryside La Vie for their continued support.
