Following on from their successes at the end of 2009, two site managers from developer William Davis Homes have confirmed their status as the best of the best!
Tony Armson and Martin Bottomley, site managers at the Loughborough-based company’s Cawston Fields development in Rugby and Morledge in Matlock respectively, were awarded the winner and runner-up places in the NHBC’s (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job Supreme Awards 2010.
The awards, held at an annual ceremony at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel, recognise the UK’s top site managers and their individual contributions towards exceptional construction sites. Both Tony and Martin were winners in the regional competition, which ensured their eligibility as contenders for the Supreme Awards. Tony, 2009 champion in the medium builder category, received the top accolade for the second consecutive year, the first time this has ever been achieved, whilst Martin proved he is hot on Tony’s heels with the runner-up prize, also the first time in the history of the competition that the winner and the runner-up have been from the same company!
NHBC’s regional director, Peter Watton, said: “I am delighted Tony has been named Supreme Winner. Not only is this an outstanding personal achievement for him, and due recognition for his determination and dedication to his site, but also it is a boon for the house-building industry during these turbulent times.
“Despite the economic downturn, unprecedented challenges and uncertainty, both Tony and Martin have excelled in producing excellent high quality homes, which is testament to their skill and dedication. It’s an honour to reward them both.”
Georgina Newcombe, private housing sales director, William Davis added: “Tony and Martin’s successes at the NHBC Awards have been phenomenal. Collectively they are approaching 25 titles between them, which is an outstanding achievement and one which they, as individuals, and we, as a company, take great pride in. Long may their successes continue!”
