A study by Enterprise Nation revealed that more than 60 per cent of businesses are started from home and over 1,400 new home businesses are launched each week.
Leicester -based Keith Stewart joined this ever increasing group twelve months ago, establishing Tomato Project - a full service marketing communications, creative and web design agency, and so far he hasn’t looked back.
“It was a huge leap of faith,” says Keith. After 15 years employment at one of Leicestershire’s leading ad agencies the decision to go it alone was a tough one. “The UK economy was in crisis and some would say it was the wrong time; but I was confident that I could make it work.”
Operating out of a home-based office meant that Tomato Project’s overheads were minimal. “This has enabled me to deliver a wholly professional service, more cost effectively; and at a time when marketing budgets are under greater scrutiny, this in fact has given me a competitive edge.”
Tomato Project has an impressive client list spanning a number of industries and specialises in devising wholly scalable bespoke marketing campaigns. “To coin a well-used phrase, we’re small enough to care and big enough to cope,” says Keith.
