The Belmont Hotel voted best venue at the Leicester comedy festival 2010

The Belmont Hotel in De Montfort Street Leicester has now won a hat trick of awards from the Leicester Comedy Festival! Named as best new venue in 2008, the ‘greenest’ venue in 2009, it has been named this week as Best Venue 2010.

The 75 bedroomed hotel, which is independently owned and operated, has been in the Bowie family for four generations and enjoys a fantastic position overlooking the historic New Walk, just a few minutes walk from the city centre.

Operations Manager James Bowie said: “We had a great programme of comedy taking place in our Bowie’s bar and in the May Room this year, including comedy in the dark and comedy for a fiver. Our guests really enjoyed themselves, as did the staff!”
