Leicester hospital invests in future health of local sport
A local hospital is investing in the future health of local sport by providing sponsorship with a difference.
Over the coming year, Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital will be providing two local sports teams with a combination of sports facilities and healthcare support.
Anstey Nomads Football Club has so far received new football kits and team tracksuits, whilst Loughborough Town Cricket Club will be the proud recipients of a new set of pitch covers and sight screens for their ground.
Both teams will also benefit from the medical expertise of their sponsors. As required, Nuffield Health will be offering the clubs discounted access to physiotherapy, free passes to the Fitness & Wellbeing Centre in Leicester and the use of the sports hall for training sessions. In addition, they will also receive advice on health and wellbeing and will be provided with a mini health MOT to monitor their fitness levels and improvement in overall fitness over the season. Health advice will also be available to all visitors of the clubs.
Andrew Davey, General Manager of Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital said: “We wanted to provide something more than just our logo on the front of the teams’ shirts. Nuffield Health is about helping people get healthy and stay healthy, and these sponsorship packages help us do that in a very real way. The teams we’ve chosen have a great presence in the community and really help people of all ages get involved in sport. Both clubs have teams ranging from the under 5’s through to senior teams. At the hospital, we treat approximately 800 to 1000 children every year so it was very important for us to choose clubs that show real dedication to developing healthy activities for local young people. We’re really looking forward to sharing in the successes of both teams over the coming year.”
