The chemistry of chocolate

Local entrepreneur Peter Gardner has struck gold with Chocolate Alchemy, the new handmade chocolate shop which opened earlier this year in the exceptional Churchgate Mews location in Loughborough.

Chocolate Alchemy was created with the passion that Peter Gardner has for excellence in chocolate and financed through First Enterprise East Midlands, a partially Government funded scheme to aid small businesses in the East Midlands.

This is a new concept for Loughborough, the shop offers a combination of individual chocolates, boxed selections and a coffee shop and Peter will also be offering courses in chocolate making, for a complete chocolate sensation.

Chocolate Alchemy
Chocolate Alchemy combines pure sumptuous chocolate with the familiar flavours of milk chocolate truffle and hazelnut praline with the more exotic infusions of strawberry and balsamic or fennel. Chocolate for the connoisseur, this chocolate offers the perfect blend of raw elements to produce a new chemical reaction to the senses. All hand made in store using ‘Callebaut’ Belgian couverture.

The coffee shop offers Italian dipping chocolate and hot chocolate made freshly every morning using a 64% extra bitter Guayaquil Belgian coverture. As well as tea and coffee served with 2 hand made chocolates. There’s also a ‘Just desserts’ menu with seasonal treats alongside daily specials.

All of the Collections have been developed by Pete and are unique to the Chocolate Alchemy brand with the recipes being a closely guarded secret.

Bespoke orders and unique flavour requests are always encouraged regardless of the size of the order.

Handmade wedding favours made to pretty much any request and quantity are another speciality.
