Almanack diners help raise funds for the Lord Mayor's charity appeal

Diners paid £15 each for a three-course dinner at The Almanack, and enjoyed a fantastic night out in the process. Lord Mayor of Leicester Councillor Roger Blackmore was joined by the Lady Mayoress at the fundraiser in aid of the Leicester Children's Holiday Centre, in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, which gives needy youngsters from the county a summer holiday.

Councillor Blackmore said, "We're really grateful to the Almanack for arranging the evening, which was also a great opportunity to welcome them to Highcross as one of our newest businesses. The centre in Mablethorpe is a fantastic place which gives children, who wouldn't normally get away in the summer, the opportunity to have a holiday."

Diners were treated to three courses which included roast chicken, beef or salmon.

Senior sous chef Rob Hartwell added, "On the night we cooked for a lot more people than we're used to but everything went really well. It's for a good cause so we're more than happy to help."
