Local TV Chef to open Bridge 67 Cookery School
Bridge 67 is in the process of constructing a brand new purpose built Cookery School
Farm owners, Jill and John Vickers have been successfully running the school from their farmhouse kitchen, using produce from the farm itself, since 2006 and are continuing to do so until the grand opening of the new facility on October 7th 2010.
On Opening day, TV Chef and local produce champion Rachel Green will be at our Press Opening and Lunch from 12pm – 2pm.
Demand for cookery courses such as those offered at Bridge 67, is at an all time high as budding Nigella Lawsons and Gary Rhodes’ realise that you can turn to a cookbook for inspiration but nothing beats learning at first hand!
When booking rates at the school reached record levels, with some more popular courses having a waiting list, expansion became the obvious next step for this successful rural business.
The school offers courses to suit all skill levels with everything from Basic Everyday Meals to Advanced Dinner Parties or why not try their Men in the Kitchen course.
They also cater for our differing taste buds with fabulous Thai, Italian, Indian, Fish/Seafood and Puddings/Desserts courses.
All courses are one day in length, include lunch, dinner also a recipe booklet to take away. They are run by a small team of highly experienced chefs, each with their own area of expertise.
Roy Shortland – Bridge 67’s longest serving chef brings a wealth of experience. In his career, he has worked in top London Hotels and Michelin star restaurants, been Head Pastry chef for Sally Clarke and Head chef for Mars UK.
The new kitchen will have all the latest equipment that you would expect from a modern teaching facility but without losing that homely environment which their customers have come to expect and is in keeping with the beautiful location of the school.
The new building will also have Meeting / Conference Room facilities, making Bridge 67 an ideal venue for a Team Building day. The Kitchen itself will be available to hire as a Development Kitchen for those in the catering trade to use.
"Informal, Relaxed and Good Fun (the way cooking should be !)"

The school is based in the heart of beautiful rural Leicestershire.
