Two new attractions were local wildlife artist Peter Williams with an exhibition of his work and an exhibition of woodcarving by an award winning craftsman.
The afternoon concluded with Songs of Praise held in the Garden which was conducted by the Rev Vic Goodman.
Area Fundraising Manager Marea Roberts said
‘This was a truly traditional village event held in lovely sunshine and I am delighted that this year the income was over £2000 which was a record for this support group. I am so grateful to June Page and her fantastic team who worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect and I know how much everyone enjoyed themselves.
The money they raised will fund our Leicestershire nurses who care for patients and their families affected by cancer and other terminal illness giving them the choice of dying at home supported by their families. Every minute of every day someone is being cared for by a Marie Curie Cancer Care nurse’.
