Caroline James of Loughborough introduces Elisa Cavaletti
Published by admin on Mon, 2011-04-11 14:02Although only in its 3rd season in the UK, Elisa Cavaletti is a brand that is now well established throughout Europe - last year the company celebrated its 20th anniversary in Carpi, Italy where the designer Daniella Dalavalle and her family (including daughter Elisa) live and work.
Daniella is an extremely creative and talented designer and is passionate about her brand. She does not follow fashion trends as such, preferring to create her own colour palette each season. She has created her own unique dyeing technique -the many beautiful fabricsincluding Italian lace, cotton, linen and wool- are all dyed together, which give the pieces a somewhat vintage look. She also uses several different fabrics in one garment.

The use of quirky hand-sewn trimmings and buttons have become her trademark. These, often miniature, embellishments include items such as tiny handbags and sunglasses, shoes and boots, clocks, scissors, cameos, crowns and diamante -in fact each time someone looks at a piece they notice yet another charm or jewel scattered as they are in unexpected places about the garment. Always a conversation starter! People often comment when they see an Elisa Cavaletti piece and the words "work of art" are frequently mentioned.
Elisa Cavaletti is ageless in both design and fit, appealing to the under 25s right through to the more mature fashion-savvy woman. Stunning blouses in crisp white and many flattering muted shades sit equally well over denim jeans, smart trousers or skirts. Elisa Cavaletti dresses are kind to the figure and feminine yet very different, and sometimes layered with lace trimmed leggings and tunics that can be worn underneath.
Knitwear is simply beautiful with trims of ribbons, pearls and for a little fun, tape-measure edging! Tunics have featured heavily the past two seasons both in prints and plain colours and layer well over jeans or leggings.
Daniella has been commended by "Vogue Italia" for her stunning images of the Elisa Cavalettti collection this year, using “Alice in Wonderland” as her theme, and has been the subject of a recent fashion shoot with the renowned London photographer Phil Poynter.
The Elisa Cavaletti collection is exclusively available in Leicestershire at Caroline James of Loughborough, who are understandably enthusiastic about the range. “This has been the most exciting collection we have ever launched” claimed Valerie Fletcher, owner of Caroline James. “The quirky pieces suit all ages and the customer reaction from day one has been spectacular.”
