In the autumn of 2010, leicester’s Hospitals agreed to let the british thoracic society (bts) take some photographs in the respiratory department to use in their annual report. the photographs featured patients and depicted typical scenes in respiratory medicine.
now as a thank you bts chief executive sheila edwards will present staff at glenfield Hospital with six of the best photographs each made into a wall panel. the panel will be used to decorate outpatients at glenfield.

Malcolm lowe-lauri, chief executive of leicester’s Hospitals, accepted the gift. He said: “We are delighted to be accepting such a generous gift from the bts. We are always happy to help health organisations and thank our patients for being happy to be involved in the photography. i look forward to seeing the photographs on display in our outpatients’ area.”
sheila edwards, chief executive of the british thoracic society (bts), said: “We were looking for some images for our new website and our annual Report that would show the range of specialist respiratory provision available for patients, and the team working that is so essential for high quality respiratory care.
“We believe that the images we have presented to the department portray the spirit and ethos of the department and demonstrate very well the range of service available to local people. the team at glenfield were a pleasure to work with, but it was especially pleasing to meet so many patients and their families who were so keen to be involved.
“i am sure that the trust is very proud of its respiratory services and bts is delighted to have such images with which to promote our work.”
