Appeal for care equipment
Published by admin on Tue, 2011-12-13 13:55Do you have any unwanted or unused items of care equipment that you no longer need? The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Community Equipment Service is urging people to return equipment that they no longer need or want. Often, items that have been prescribed by health or social care professionals get stored by people when they are no longer required. Many of the items can be used again and include equipment such as:
Mobile hoists and slings
Pressure care mattresses and cushions
Profiling beds
Bathing items including bath lifts, mobile and static shower chairs and commodes
Over bed tables
Walking trolleys and walking frames
Sandra King, a Director from Nottingham Rehab Supplies which manages the Community Equipment Loan Service on behalf of the NHS and local authorities said:
“These items are issued on loan and are often provided to help people in a period of rehabilitation or to help older or disabled people to live an independent and safer life. This equipment may be needed by someone else and we are therefore appealing for the return of unwanted items as soon as possible.”
To arrange the FREE return of unwanted equipment, please telephone 0844 893 6373, so that it can collected, recycled and prepared for another person. Alternatively, you can return the equipment to the loan store at: Nottingham Rehab Supplies, Units K,L,M, Wilson Road, South Wigston, LE18 4TP between 9am – 6pm on weekdays. In addition the loan store is open on Saturday mornings until 12 noon for the return of the equipment until 7th January 2012.
