Gary Barlow donates Diamond Jubilee Shoes to The Horder Centre auction
Superstar Gary Barlow has donated a pair of his Jubilee shoes to The Horder Centre celebrity shoe auction. The signed shoes were specially made for the Take That lead singer and have the Union Jack and lyrics of Sing, the Jubilee song, inscribed on the sole. These one of a kind shoes will go onto eBay on Tuesday 10th July for two weeks to allow as many fans as possible the opportunity to bid.
Gary recently received an OBE in recognition of his efforts in organising the musical extravaganza and writing the commemorative song Sing.
The eBay auction is raising funds for the leading orthopaedic charity The Horder Centre. You can also bid on shoes donated by stars from the world of showbiz and sport, including DJ Norman Cook, tennis star Ana Ivanovic, Olympic ice skating gold medallist Jayne Torvill, ex-England and Bath rugby captain Lewis Moody, singer and TV presenter Kim Wilde, authors Sophie Kinsella and Peter James, much-loved Forces’ sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn and TV weathergirl Kaddy Lee-Preston.
“It’s great to have a megastar like Gary donating to the auction and supporting The Horder Centre. I have no doubt his Jubilee shoes will attract great interest from his millions of fans.”
The money raised will help create several new woodland trails in the grounds of The Horder Centre in Crowborough, East Sussex. One of the trails will be adapted for the disabled and another will have outdoor gym equipment and both will be open, not only to patients, but to local schools and the community.
