Fairies and elves wanted for photograph competition
Children up to the age of 12 from Leicestershire are being invited to dress up as fairies or elves for a local photography competition with prizes worth up to £500. The children, who must be accompanied by a responsible adult, have the chance to be photographed in a professional studio with a specially created magical fairy glen as a backdrop.
Sessions for the competition, which is free to enter, will be held from Friday 1st March through to Sunday 3rd March at the studio of photographer Nigel Ord-Smith (www.nigelordsmith.com) in Marston Trussell, near Market Harborough.
Girls up to the age of 12 and boys up to the age of 6 can dress up as fairies and elves to be photographed on the set. After their session, parents will be able to select their favorite image for their competition entry. They will also be able to buy photographs of their children after the shoot, but are under no obligation to do so.
“The competition was a great success when we held it last year, with such a positive reaction from parents and children that we decided to repeat the offer,” explains Nigel. “The children love the whole experience: their faces really light up when they see the magical set that we have created – complete with toadstools and butterflies. They can also pick their favourite outfit from the costumes provided. There were some truly stunning images from last year’s competition which provided a great keepsake for parents and children alike.”
Janine Lee, whose daughter Indy took part in the competition last year said, “The picture of Indy looked truly magical, she was so excited to see a picture of herself. Thank you so much to Nigel for a wonderful experience.”
