Launching a New Leicestershire Space Partnership
ITP Engines Ltd, a leading Space Industry company based in Leicestershire, is working with the National Space Centre to create an imaginative partnership that will develop an exciting new exhibition at the award winning attraction.
In addition to the physical development, ITP will be supporting the work of the National Space Academy, based at the National Space Centre. It provides a programme of student masterclasses, teacher CPD and careers events. ITP will be working with the team to provide students with its unrivalled expertise and knowledge.
As part of the partnership, ITP staff were invited to appear in the National Space Centre’s new show, We Are Aliens!, in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium. The show highlights the work undertaken by UK scientists and the space industry in the search for life in our Universe. Already children of ITP staff have visited to see their Mums and Dads appear on screen as alien-hunting scientists!
Henri Brouquet, Programme Manager at ITP, says: “We have been looking for an appropriate way to support the National Space Centre for some time and we are delighted to have found the perfect project in which to collaborate. The National Space Centre is a great day out and its national education programme is world class, so being able to help it develop even further is both satisfying in its own right and a great way to give some recognition to our hard working staff.”
Kevin Yates, Exhibition Development Manager at the National Space Centre said: “This is a really exciting exhibition to be working on with ITP Engines Ltd. It will enable us to engage the next generation of scientists and engineers with the very latest solar research. The space missions behind this research are made possible by ITP’s thermal design software. Now visitors to the National Space Centre will be able to explore how to design such spacecraft for themselves.”
ITP Engines Ltd supplies the space industry with software to help engineers with thermal design.
