Yet again Ian and his team have proved triumphant in the Taste awards 2014 securing 1st prize for their delicious Pork pies. It is well documented that I can say with my hand on my heart how truly delicious these are - I was in trouble recently as one of the staff wanted me to bring back a pork pie for Christmas (which I forgot) to which she was most miffed and wouldn't buy any other brand apart from one from Clarke’s! I have also given them to three managing directors who all agree it's the best pork pie that they have ever tasted. You have to understand that you have to taste the produce to appreciate the quality. Trust us on this.

Clarke’s also won 1st prize for their venison & herb sausages and secured 2nd place for their Churchill pork sausages and pork & leek sausages. Amazing success again and Ian tells me “We do put a lot of work into our products and the girls in the back room have a wealth of experience, such a dedicated team”. The beauty about the team here is that they believe in and enjoy what they do which makes all the difference.

If you have been reading our articles you will know that Clarke’s are always sourcing new products and creating new recipes from the 'beauties in the backroom' and we do not mind one little bit being their guinea pigs, which puts us in a good position to recommend products as we have tried and tasted them. A recent addition are their crackers from Sweden which compliment their cheeses ranging from Claxstone blue (which sold out over Christmas) to Gorgonzola, Colston Basset, Shropshire Blue and a mouth watering Wensleydale and cranberry.

Other tasty arrivals include an array of homemade affordable soups from Yorkshire, beautifully presented coming in a range to suit all tastebuds from beetroot & Horseradish, silky butternut squash with spice to root vegetable with pearl barley. Ian personally tastes all new products in the shop to ensure that you will enjoy them from the comfort of your own home. He also has a new range of Indian cooking sauces that are really good and spicy - nice for something different mid week. As usual the handmade pies on offer here are top notch crammed full with inches of filling plenty to feed the family.
