Raising Funds for East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS)

An evening of fundraising with a touch of spice took place this month in support of the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS). Seventy five guests enjoyed a buffet supplied by the team at The Cuisine of India in Wigston. The scheme, a registered charity, co-ordinates the work of volunteer doctors who attend emergency incidents working alongside paramedics and crews from the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

EMICS doctors volunteer in their own time, over and above their usual General Practice or hospital hours and receive no payment for their services. Dr Tim Gray reported that the evening was a great success and raised £1,200 which will be used to train and equip additional volunteers.
