Rainbows Children's Hospice Handbag Amnesty

Rainbows Handbag AmnestyDo you love handbags?

Have a look through those closets! Bring out those neglected treasures and donate them to Rainbows. Enjoy being guilt-free as you find other donated beauties to fall in love with. Set your handbags free to be loved by someone else and make room for great new ones!

Rainbows are opening a 'pop up shop' for the weekend, offering the full fabulous stock of handbags kindly donated to fund their work. The hospice serves all of the East Midlands, caring for children and young people with life threatening or life limiting conditions, also caring for the people who love them most. As the hospice is located in Loughborough it seemed only right to focus this exciting event in the town.

The idea behind Rainbows’ Handbag Amnesty is really very simple – guilt free handbag shopping! You don’t have to donate a bag to buy a bag although we always welcome additions. Currently we have a fantastic eclectic stock of literally hundreds of bags, all kindly donated. Some of the bags are brand new & the stock is ever changing but at present we have Mulberry, Coccinelle, Radley, Ciccia, Ugg alongside Tula, Kipling & High Street names such as NEXT & Per Una to literally name but a few.

Pricing very much depends on what would have been the original RRP, the condition of the bag, current trends etc. but buyers can be assured 100% of the price paid goes directly to fund Rainbows. The really well respected labels command a premium but we have lots of bags in the £8 - £15 range, a good selection up to around £25 & of course we always make sure we have some ‘pocket money’ lovelies for our younger handbag-lovers in training! I think I’m safe in saying we have every imaginable size & colour but naturally lots of the wardrobe staples such as black, brown & tan for Autumn/Winter.

The purpose of the pop up shop is two-fold. Firstly we want to sell lots of bags to raise funds. But also it is to demonstrate how simple it could be to host your own Handbag Amnesty event. Whether for ladies’ groups, at work, organisations or a few friends handbags can be a really fun way to raise funds for Rainbows. We are hoping people will drop in to see how it works & how simple it is.
