Developer Kicks off Sport Relief with Football Donation and Commitment to Keep Pupils Active

David Wilson Homes has kicked off Sport Relief with a football donation to Sketchley Hill Primary School, as part of an ongoing pledge to encourage local school pupils to keep active in 2018.

The local primary school were delighted to receive 10 brand new footballs and will now use them in their PE lessons and for their after-school football club.

The donation comes after the housebuilder announced its commitment to supporting children to be active in schools close to its developments.

Sketchley Hill Primary School and David Wilson Homes East Midlands have teamed up on similar awareness campaigns in the past, including International Walk to School Month.

This saw the developer donating 30 high visibility vests and bag tags to encourage pupils to walk to and from school and keep them safe as the darker nights drew in.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We want to keep supporting local primary schools in and around the areas we build new homes.

“This year, we have pledged to encourage local pupils to keep active, whether this be through donations of sporting equipment, or hosting leisure activity sessions at our developments, and we will continue to work closely with a number of schools throughout 2018.”

David Wilson Homes East Midlands is currently building new homes at its development The Spinney in Burbage, near the school.
