Fox and Goose
A Leicestershire gem nestled in the small village of Illston on the Hill just off the B6047 north of Market Harborough and south of Billesdon. The pub dates way back when and research has ascertained the Landlords date back to the late 1800’s.
By modern day public house standards this can only be described as small but in the eyes of many perfectly formed. In the summer come and enjoy the award winning patio area surrounded by white hydrangeas and colourful flowers. In the cold winter months snuggle up in front of log fires surrounded by traditional Leicestershire memorabilia, foxes & squirrels and a plethora of photographs depicting the life’s journey of this truly unique hostelry.
The pub was originally part of the Ruddles estate then acquired by Everards, the Leicestershire family brewer and meticulously maintained to retain it’s quintessentially English charm. Many returning visitors are delighted to report that nothing has changed over the years perhaps with the exception of the quality of the food and drinks.
Food is now served:
Wednesday - Saturday lunchtime and evenings / Sunday lunchtime until 5pm with delicious seasonal menus.
Our head chef Ian Newberry has developed a menu to suit young & old and our Thursday steak nights are very popular!

Follow your nose through the village, pass the Church and the pub is nestled on the right hand side. How an English pub should be!!
