A groundbreaking arts education project providing music opportunities for over 28,000 Leicester children.

The College was winner of the category for Best Environmental Contribution by a school or college. The award was given in recognition of the College’s outstanding performance in increasing the levels of recycling being achieved.

Governors, special guests, staff and girls at Leicester High School were delighted to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire Jennifer, Lady Gretton to the school on Monday 11 October to mark the grand opening of the school’s new extension wing.

September 2010 marks the start of new beginnings at Leicester High School, as the school celebrates the grand opening of its £3.7 million science and design extension with an initial week of festivities. The school is very proud to be investing in the future.

Staff and pupils from St Edward’s C of E Primary School in Castle Donington, dressed in Edwardian costumes and joined in with lessons and activities like they would have done 100 years ago when their school was built!

After taking part in a national survey, Trading Standards in Leicestershire is encouraging parents and carers to look at the food provided at their children’s nurseries.

Legendry greats of cricket Geoff Miller and Tony Cottey joined Leicester-based snooker legend Willie Thorne at Loughborough Grammar School to raise money for Loughborough-based charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice and the school’s cricket team for their tour of the West Indies later this year.

Pupils from both the Junior and the Senior Schools at Our Lady’s Convent School joined together to give an unforgettable performance of Oliver!

Grace Dieu nursery department have recently enjoyed a ‘Toddle Waddle’ to raise awareness and funds for The Meningitis Trust. The energetic three year olds had three races: a bean bag race, an egg and spoon race and a running race as well as a lively walk around the school grounds.
