Sandy Lyle joined Stapleford Park Golf Club members and members of the Stapleford Forum to witness the signing of the sponsorship agreement supporting the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters taking place in March 2010.
Following the signing Sandy was available for a Q&A session and members were then treated to a golf clinic where the two times Masters winner showed he had not lost that magical touch around the greens and out of the bunkers.

For the 2nd year running and in support of the Aberdeen Seniors Masters in Brunei, Stapleford Park will host ‘The Race to Brunei’ golf competition on Friday 5th February 2010. Up to 40 pairs of golfers will compete for the chance to travel to Brunei and play in the Pro-Am of The Brunei Senior Masters on 4th March and enjoy the tournament itself from 5th to 7th.
The tournament is designed for good competitive golfers. Players of all handicaps are welcome to play but a maximum handicap on the day will be 18 for men and 21 for the ladies. Better-ball Stableford within the pairs will be the format of the competition and entry will be £100 per person and will include breakfast, golf and lunch back at the house.
The winning pair together with the highest placed individual will be flown to Brunei on Monday 1st March and will stay at the magnificent Empire Hotel and Country Club courtesy of Royal Brunei Airlines and Brunei Tourism. The winners will be flown home on Monday 8th March, following the completion of tournament.

Headway Leicester, a local charity supporting people with acquired brain injuries celebrated their recent Big Lottery Fund grant in style with an afternoon tea party at Headway House, their base in Evington. The charity’s President, Dr. Laurence Howard OBE JP, Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, joined the staff, clients, volunteers and friends to toast the award of £146,295.
A young team of Golfers, aged 15-18 years won the 4th Annual LOROS Golf Tournament held at Rothley Park Golf Club on 30th April, 2010. The team were named “FORE DAWN” in memory of the Aunt of one of the players. They were sponsored to play, raising £1,000, and Luke Atkins (team member) won the Men’s Longest Drive.
