Peterborough's East of England Show 2012 has the X Factor!
TWO of the biggest names from last year’s X Factor will perform live at an open-air concert in the city this summer.
The show’s runner-up and current chart-topper Marcus Collins will be joined by fellow finalist, Irish singer Janet Devlin, at the East of England Show in Peterborough on Saturday July 7.
This is the first time that an outdoor evening concert will form part of the three-day family event, and is a coup for the Showground and the recently re-branded Peterborough Arena complex - in the quest to bring more live music to the city.
Liverpudlian Marcus, whose debut album is on sale now, recently soared the charts with his single ‘Seven Nation Army’.
The East of England Showground forms part of the recently re-branded Peterborough Arena complex. Peterborough Arena managing director Keith Dalton said: “This is going to be a fantastic evening not only for visitors to the show, giving them an extra, exciting dimension to their great day out, but for the general public.
“We are thrilled that Marcus and Janet will be performing in the open air grandstand at the showground, and hope that this marks the start of a new era for live music and big name acts in the city.”
This year’s East of England Show takes place on July 6, 7 and 8 and will be packed with events, attractions and act ivi t ies for all the family – from agricultural highlights and interactive experiences to classic cars, vintage tractors and an abundance of shopping opportunities.
Admission for the Saturday - to include entrance to the concert – range from £10 for a child ticket and £19 for an adult ticket (£17 senior citizens concession) to £45 for a family ticket. Admission to the concert only, after 4pm, is £15.
