Calling all keen golfers - Charity golf day in aid of R.A.B.I. - 13th June - Market Bosworth golf club, Leicestershire
On Friday 13th June, the Leicestershire R.A.B.I. committee will host a charity golf day at Market Bosworth golf course by kind permission of Nick and Theresa Leatherland. The 18 hole championship course will challenge teams of 4 golfers with a 4-ball stableford start on full handicap. For a reasonable rate of £100 per team (£25 per player) you will enjoy bacon rolls and coffee on arrival, followed by a round of golf and lunch. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for local businesses, which for £50 will secure you sponsorship of a hole and promotion at the event. All money raised from the charity golf day will go towards the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution whom are in need of vital funding to support farmers, farm workers and their families locally with practical and financial support.
Commenting on the golf day fundraiser is R.A.B.I. regional manager Milly Wastie who said ‘Each year R.A.B.I. distributes approx. £2 million pounds across England and Wales in emergency grants and support to farmers in crisis’. ‘Locally to Leicestershire, approx. £30,000 is spent annually with the provision of home help, food vouchers, mobility equipment as well as recruiting state benefit entitlements to those who didn’t realise they qualified or were too proud to ask for help’.
