Undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr chooses Leicester for intimate audience-led dinner
The highest grossing athlete in the World, Floyd Mayweather Jr, is coming to Leicester this June to give his account of life in ring, to an exclusive party of dinner guests.
Michigan-born Mayweather is part of boxing royalty after following in the footsteps of his father Floyd Mayweather Snr, famed for fighting Sugar Ray Leonard, and his uncles Jeff and Roger Mayweather.
Rated as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the World and winner of many accolades including ‘Best Fighter’, ‘WBC welterweight champion’ and ‘WBC super welterweight champion’, Mayweather has also topped both Forbes and Sports Illustrated lists as the highest paid athlete, globally.
Being held on Wednesday 18th June from 7pm at the Maher Centre, Leicester, the event promises to give a true account of the star’s magnificent rise to stardom. During a 40 minute interview with professional boxer and Sky pundit Johnny Nelson, Mayweather will be questioned on his life as fighter including most memorable moments, growing up in a boxing family, title wins, training techniques and future fights.
Shane Whitfield, director of K Kong Events the brand bringing Mayweather to Leicester, said: “This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet one of the World’s modern day sporting legends. We anticipate boxing and sports fans from across the UK will travel to Leicester to see Mayweather. As the most respected and feared boxer of our generation and a successful businessman to boot, we’re sure the evening will pack some punches.”
Floyd Mayweather Jnr added: “I am looking forward to meeting some of my UK fans in Leicester. The evening promises to be a good occasion particularly as I can battle out some questions with Johnny Nelson. Watch out Leicester, I’m coming for you!”
