This colourful and healthy dish is an excellent choice if you are hungry and only have a few minutes to spare for cooking - it’s simplicity itself
Ingredients (Serves 4):
450g minced beef
2.5cm piece of root ginger - sliced
5ml Chinese five-spice powder
1 sliced red chilli
1 red pepper,
seeded and chopped
1 sliced carrot
15ml sesame oil
Cooked Chinese egg noodles
The oil should be heated in a wok until almost smoking. Add the mince beef and stirring all the time cook for about 3 minutes.
Add the Chinese five-spice powder, ginger and chilli and cook for another minute.
Stirring the mixture continuously add the mange-touts, the red pepper and carrot and cook for a further 3 minutes.
Add the beansprouts and sesame oil and cook for a final 2 minutes. Serve immediately with Chinese egg noodles.
