Make a date with Harborough artists cluster

During September, artists in the Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire region will open their studios to the public in Northamptonshire Open Studios 2010.

On the first weekend, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September, art lovers, collectors and students have the chance to visit studios of professional artists belonging to the Harborough Artists Cluster in the form of a unique trail through Market Harborough town centre and its surrounding villages when all studios and exhibitions belonging to this diverse group of artists, designers and makers are guaranteed to be open.

The trail takes visitors on various routes that explore some of the prettiest landscapes in the area with the opportunity to enjoy lunch in one of the welcoming pubs on the way. With free entry to all exhibitions and studios, the Harborough Artists Cluster art trail leaves the summer season on a high note proving to be an increasingly popular annual event and one not to miss.

This year’s Cluster group comprises over 20 artists working in various disciplines including painting, drawing, illustration, sculpture, photography, textiles and mixed media – Individual artworks, prints and cards are available to buy at prices to suit all budgets – and don’t forget that it is the perfect time to commission an artist to create a one-off piece for a special gift in time for Christmas.

Lookout for the colourful guide to the art trail, which is available through various outlets in the region and makes a great souvenir of the artists and studios visited.
