Things are stirring in the west of the county

James Darlaston of Philip James"Forty five years of retailing exclusive menswear in Hinckley and carrying on the family business, have been tremendously exciting and satisfying. Many customers have become friends.

But looking to the future is now important.

hinckley is looking forward to probably the most important and exciting change the town has ever seen. a proposed 55 million redevelopment of the old bus station site is planned which will raise the towns profile on the retail, leisure and entertainment scene. a cinema shops, offices, a supermarket, dwellings and improved car parking, will dramatically alter and improve the town centre enabling it to compete with the out of town and nearby towns and in doing so, giving our customers a greater choice and improved service.

The centre of the town was recently voted by its businesses, including ours, to become a Business improvement District. The funds raised from all types of trades and professions in the area are being used within a five-year plan, to enhance and improve the user experience and raise the image of the town both to local residents and those from surrounding areas.

footfall monitors have already been installed to indicate when and where events and offers make a difference on a daily and even hourly basis. This information will be useful in tailoring the offer to all our customers.

at Philip James we are all eagerly looking forward to an exciting future and are confident that we will go on offering a unique experience to our customers old and new.

clothes buying should be a relaxing and satisfying experience. it is our aim to continue to make it so for all our customers".
