Kobot the all-electric scooter
Making its debut at the Tokyo Motor show is the Kobot created as a joint venture by Kowa Tmusk. This all-electric scooter that can fold up at the tap of a button on a smartphone app and sports three wheels and one seat. Cruising speed is around 18 miles per hour and more importantly it creates no pollution.
When folded it will fit in a space of around one square metre. All the rider has to do is tap a button on an accompanying smartphone app and the vehicle's rear wheel and seat fold into the front of the vehicle.
The creators of this vehicle are the medical robot firm Tmusk and pharmaceutical company Kowa and they say it’s perfect for crowded city streets and cramped living accommodation.
There is also a slightly larger two-seater Kobot II and the vehicles should be on the market by the autumn.
