Kittens, kittens, kittens

The Mid Warwickshire Branch of Cats Protection are looking for homes for up to 30 kittens at the moment. The peak time for taking in kittens and mum cats is July and August, and so they are particularly busy at the moment and so need help with finding homes.

Branch Co-ordinator Chris Osborne reports “we carried out a free neutering campaign in February of this year and neutered around 420 cats in total, however we are still having kittens handed in to us, so the neutering message is not getting around”.

All Cats Protection kittens have been checked by a local vet, blood tested for FELV and FIV, wormed, deflead, inoculated, microchipped and come with 4 weeks free pet insurance and neutering vouchers worth up to £26 per cat.  They have also been lovingly looked after by a team of fosterers who take them into their homes to socialise them and prepare them for their new owners.

Several of the kittens have come in with their mum, having been abandoned and ended up having their kittens in gardens and under sheds and hedges. The kittens in the picture were found abandoned and handed into a local vets.  Inspired by Narnia, these ‘magic’ kittens  have been called Mr Tumnus, Lucy and Aslan and are incredibly well socialised and friendly kittens. They are also all perfectly healthy and are anxiously looking for a new home.

In order to try to find homes for these kittens a special Kitten Rehoming Event has been planned for Saturday, 10 August at All Saints Church Contact Centre, Warwick from 10.30 – 12.30.  Entrance is £1 for adults or a bag of donated items for the Branch’s Charity Shop.  Children are free.
