Highfield farm in the beautiful Yorkshire wolds is holding a series of three-day nature safaris. Best know for its popular cookery school and bed and breakfast accommodation, Highfield farm will launch it’s first nature safari 19-21 april 2013.
the safaris will concentrate on achieving close up views of speciality wildlife, including red kites and kingfishers, which roam freely on the hills and wetlands close to the farm.
richard baines from Yorkshire Coast nature (YCn) said: “ We are delighted to have teamed up with Highfield farm. the nature safaris are designed specifically for people wishing to see and experience memorable wildlife surrounded by beautiful scenery.
“each tour will be led by a local wildlife expert and includes transport and guiding in a small group environment to ensure we don’t put pressure on the wildlife and give everyone in our group the best chance to share the experience.”
no two safaris will be the same. With changes of location and season, new and unexpected nature encounters will happen on every tour.
the hidden valleys of the Wolds are home to nesting Curlews, barn owls and stunning songbirds such as redstarts. otters and Water Voles lurk along the beautiful chalk streams of the river Hull headwaters.
