British Red Cross Theatre Night Fundraising at the Harborough Theatre
On the 30th of September, Harborough Theatre will be giving their first evening performance of Moliere’s The Miser, the British Red Cross have been fortunate to be chosen as the charity to benefit from the proceeds of this event. The classic French comedy play tells the story of a money-hoarder father caught between his love for his children, and his love of money. The version to be performed has been freely adapted by Sean Foley and Phil Porter; although the script has been modernised (and is in English!), the play is still to be set in 1668 France in a grand but dilapidated house.
Tickets cost £11 (or £8 for under 25s) and there will also be a raffle held on the night. To book tickets contact Sue Wright on 07709400764 or SueWright@redcross.org.uk or contact Liz Thake onthakeliz00 at gmail.com. Although the British Red Cross is a national charity, we also work on a very local level to help individuals in crisis. As such, all proceeds from the event will go towards funding our local community projects: Mobility Aids (providing short term loans of mobility equipment); Emergency Response (supporting individuals in times of crisis such as a housefire or flood); Refugee Services and International Family Tracing (providing assistance to refugees facing destitution, and reuniting individuals with loved ones).
